Bio

I am constantly challenged and fulfilled when I am engaging in the field of workforce consulting. The demand for this field of specialization is rising rapidly as leaders across the world are realizing that understanding culture and human dynamics is the key reaching the next level of profit and performance. A level that represents a major leap in our ability to organize large groups of people, understand the complexity of life conditions, solve the myriad of challenges facing organizations today.

The context I use to discuss this broad and deep territory is leading an adaptive workforce. I am collecting ideas, models, research and my own thoughts on a dedicated site at www.adaptiveworkforce.com.

For starters I’ll describe a little bit about how I got here.

Formidable Background with Technology Companies

Way back, just before DOS made its way on the scene, and directly out of college, I was hired into one of the industries premier sales training programs by NCR Corporation. It proved to be a solid foundation where I contributed, for over 11 years, as top performing Executive Account Manager in the Finance and Banking sector, serving major accounts with a range of enterprise-wide computing platforms. During the next 6 years, working for several smaller technology consulting firms, I transitioned into a Business Development role; establishing external partnerships, new product development, and assembling and managing functional project teams. We assisted medium, large and multinational accounts through process improvement initiatives, quality metric programs, outsourcing contracts and technology-driven solutions to operational issues.

After 17 years focused on learning the gamut the technology sector, at that time, had to offer, my interest and passion turned toward human and organizational development, and cultural change.

Applying Tomorrows Thinking Today

During the past decade I have studied and applied leading edge, elegant models of human behavior, change dynamics and inter-personal interaction that follow a developmental trajectory toward more complexity. That’s a lot of words to say I have a deep, applied knowledge of Spiral Dynamics integral. Within this framework, I have emerged as one of a core group of practitioners found globally who can design and lead training programs, coach and mentor others, develop content, and think about the challenges and opportunities related to success by adapting to the current and unprecedented rate of change impacting our personal and business lives.

Quite Literally, it is Time to Grow a New Mind

Using natural designs, holistic lenses, stratified solutions sets, value systems, change states, culture fit and integral support structures, I have been involved in mapping, designing and communicating cultural dynamics found in major corporations, education systems, government operations, medicine and healthcare, religion and spiritual initiatives, as well as community development and geopolitical transformation. Working independently and as a collaborator in a global constellation of complex thinkers and organizational development experts, I utilize my executive coaching and leadership development certification and skill sets, along with my background in consulting to forge a comprehensive client relationship as a Thinking Buddy to accelerate, guide and support individuals, teams, organizations and communities through transitions and transformations.

Innovative Thinking and Practical Actions

This 10 year pursuit of applied knowledge is derived from a self directed, self funded, intentional developmental pathway which has me committed to a long term personal vision of creating and leading the next generation consulting models. A purpose driven value set anchors my alignment behind the sustainable, resilient and emergent capacities being called forth by the trends and pattern convergences found in our current life conditions. As my good friend and mentor, Dr. Don Beck often says “these are yeasty times, adding there are no more prizes for forecasting the rain, only prizes for building the ark. I am involved in projects that build arks based on sustainability, resilience and emergence goals and objectives where the focus constantly scans the big picture to next action and again, big picture to next action.

A Return to Technology

One of the naturally emerging capacities with our adaptive motivations is a movement toward ‘connecting everything to everything else.’ Technological advancements and new minds are actively engaging in this process. I have tasked myself with -  and also support others interested in – the effective use of peer production, social technologies and open source collaboration to meet, adapt and respond to the next wave of change facing organizations. I am positioned well to play a role in the demonstrable application of these environments as their promise holds to significantly contribute to creating thriving cultural milieus and fulfilling places of work.

Work History

It’s a new world. Really, it’s here already and since you are visiting this site, you must be one of the enlightened ones! ;-)

Here’s the scoop. I am investing in the use of social technology, therefore, I going to ask you to click some more to find my work history. There are two applications; LinkedIn and Ziggs. Both applications give you summary information and work history. LinkedIn is geared toward and is more successful as a networking platform. I still use Ziggs because the layout is easy to read and it includes an interesting range information. Click here to read my LinkedIn profile, and click here to read my Ziggs profile.
